Associate Professor in Economics, The University of Western Australia

Michael started working in the Economics Department at the University of Western Australia in July 2015. After finishing his studies in Memphis (USA) in 2011, Michael has worked in Colombia at a private university for 4 years (the Universidad EAFIT in Medellin).

His main areas of research focus on terrorism and other conflict-related events, media effects and behavioral characteristics (e.g., gender differences). Since 2013, Michael has been a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) in Bonn, Germany. Since 2016, Michael has been a Research Affiliate at the Center for Economic Studies in Munich (CESifo).
