Miho is a solar physicist at the University of Dundee. She was recruited as a Dundee Fellow in October 2013 and currently works in the Division of Mathematics.

Although fascinated by every aspects of astrophysics, her main interests are the Sun and its influence on the surrounding planets. Miho's expertise covers:

*the mechanisms of solar flares, from the evolution of active regions, flare triggers and subsequent phenomena
*the evolution and the characteristics of coronal mass *ejections (CMEs) in the interplanetary medium
*magnetic reconnection and plasma instabilities
