Postdoctoral Fellow, Evolutionary Studies Institute, University of the Witwatersrand

I am Postdoctoral Fellow at the Evolutionary Studies Institute based at the University of the Witwatersrand. I have undertaken many fieldtrips to the Karoo to collect fossils from the mid Permian rocks of the Beaufort Group as well as determine the position of each species within the sequence. I have then used this knowledge in combination with existing collections data to understand changes in tetrapod biodiversity through the mid Permian. I have been lucky enough to speak at a number of international conferences and have published articles in globally recognised journals. My primary research interests lie in Permian biostratigraphy and diversity change, the Guadalupian mass extinction event and the evolutionary history of non-mammalian therapsids.
