PhD Candidate, Institute of Economic Studies, Charles University

I am a Ph.D. candidate at the Institute of Economic Studies, Charles University, Prague. I work as a researcher on the Horizon 2020 COFFERS project, GAČR project Tax havens and financial secrecy, GAUK project Corporate tax avoidance in developing countries, in collaboration with the Tax Justice Network on the Financial Secrecy Index and the Corporate Tax Haven Index, and also as a project administrator of the GEMCLIME project.

My research is mainly on topics in political economy, international tax avoidance, tax havens, financial secrecy, and public procurement. Through my research, I aim to help in the ongoing fight against corruption, tax evasion, and inefficiency of the public sector.

I teach undergraduate courses Principles of Economics (I and II) and Public Finance. I hold Master’s degrees in Economics from Charles University and in Econometrics from Aix-Marseille School of Economics. I occasionally work as an analyst for Econlab, a public data analytics NGO based in Prague, mostly on the PolitickeFinance.cz project, and consult for Datlab, a private IT company, on public procurement data, mostly related to the Digiwhist project.
