Scientia Senior Lecturer, UNSW Sydney

Dr Mitchell Harley is a Scientia Senior Lecturer at the UNSW Water Research Laboratory (School of Civil and Environmental Engineering). His research interests include coastal processes, wave climatology, coastal hazard forecasting, citizen science and nearshore remote sensing. Mitchell has published over 50 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in journals such as Nature Geoscience, Journal of Geophysical Research, International Journal of Climatology and Coastal Engineering. Recently, Mitchell founded the CoastSnap community beach monitoring program, a citizen science initiative with over 180 stations in 20 countries worldwide.
