Postdoctoral research fellow, University of Zurich

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Zürich, Switzerland. A major objective of my research is to develop and apply quantitative methods to investigate phenotypic diversity (i.e. disparity) in vertebrate animals. I incorporate both high-dimensional morphometric techniques, machine learning, and interactive data visualization to reconstruct patterns of variation and co-variation. In my academic work, I explore the origins of modern shark biodiversity as well as the origins of shark morphological, ecological, and behavioral adaptations. My research draws primarily on anatomical, fossil, and molecular data from across the shark crown group, and paleontological evidence from its proximal stem.
