Lecturer in Drug Discovery, University of the West of Scotland

I was awarded my PhD in drug discovery from natural sources from plants, marine organisms, and microorganisms from University of Aberdeen 2011. Then I worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the Scripps Research Institute in USA. Then moved back to the UK for another postdoctoral period till the end of 2015 where I joined University of the West of Scotland in Paisley as a lecturer in analytical chemistry.

My main research is focused on isolation and characterisation of microbial secondary metabolites and testing them against different drug targets for the discovery of the next-generation antibiotics, antivirals, anticancer agents from nature.
