Reader in Drug Discovery, University of the West of Scotland

I was awarded my PhD in drug discovery from natural sources from plants, marine organisms, and microorganisms from University of Aberdeen 2011. Then I worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the Scripps Research Institute in USA. Then moved back to the UK for another postdoctoral period till the end of 2015 where I joined University of the West of Scotland in Paisley as a lecturer in analytical chemistry, and recently promoted to a reader in analytical chemistry and drug discovery.

My main research is focused on isolation and characterisation of microbial secondary metabolites and testing them against different drug targets for the discovery of the next-generation antibiotics, antivirals, anticancer agents from nature.
