Dr Mujibur Rehman is a political scientist by training and pursues inter- disciplinary research. He works at the interface of identity politics and development politics. His latest book is, Rise of Saffron Power: Reflections on Indian Politics( Routledge 2018). The new edition of his volume, Communalism in postcolonial India: Changing Contours( Routledge 2016) is republished in 2018 with a foreward by Romila Thapar and afterward by Dipesh Chakrabarty. He is currently working on two book projects simultaneously: one on Indian Muslims and other on Politics of Anti- Christian Violence in India. He wrote his doctoral dissertation on, Politics of India’s Economic Reform( 1991/92-2004).

He writes opeds and reviews in major Indian newspapers and is occasionally interviewed in major global outlet such as The Time, Boston Globe, Der Speigel German on line) etc. Dr Rehman has received his graduate training Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), New Delhi; the University of Heidelberg, Germany; the University of Texas, Austin, USA.
