Murilo Santhiago

Murilo Santhiago is a researcher at the National Nanotechnology Laboratory (LNNano/CNPEM) since 2015, where he works with flexible electronic and electrochemical devices using nanomaterials. Graduated from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, where he worked for 2 years in the field of electrochemical biosensors. He holds a master's, doctorate and postdoctoral degree from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), where he developed research at the Institute of Chemistry. In the master's degree, he dedicated 2 years of research in the construction of nanostructured platforms on conventional electrodes for numerous applications. During his doctorate he developed flexible paper-based devices with electrochemical detection for fast, simple and low-cost analysis. Still in the doctorate, he worked under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Charles S. Henry at Colorado State University (CSU) in Fort Collins - CO, USA, fabricating miniaturized flexible electrochemical devices. In the Pos-Doc he diversified his research line, working mainly with microfluidic devices and investigating the electrochemical properties of carbon nanomaterials. In 2019, he was a visiting researcher at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) in Braga, Portugal, working with electrocatalysts supported on flexible arrays in collaboration with the researcher Lifeng Liu. His current research interests are flexible electrochemical devices and 2D materials
