Muxina Konarova has been working in the fields of green chemistry and heterogeneous catalysts for conversion of carbonaceous feedstocks into biofuels and chemicals. Specifically, engineering catalysts for catalytic conversion of carbonaceous feedstocks and designing functional catalysts using green chemistry approach. Some of her work includes syngas to oxygenated fuels (ethanol, DME, DEE); used tyre oil conversion to fuels; and other waste oil (used engine oil, cooking oil) conversion. She is also involved in lignin valorisation research projects to produce phenolic monomers and other platform chemicals.
