Senior Lecturer in Sociology, University of Portsmouth

I have been lecturing on Race and the political economy of the Global South for over 20 years. I joined the Sociology team at Portsmouth nearly 8 years ago and I have been offering optional courses in the undergraduate programme on Decolonisation and British colonial history, Third World nationalism, before the sector began to respond with its corporate diversity narrative under pressure from black academics and students. My specialism is social movements in South Asia and I'm currently researching Christian minority experience and Disability Activism in Pakistan.
