Associate Professor of Social Work, University of Maryland, Baltimore County

Nancy Kusmaul, PhD, LMSW received her MSW from the University of Michigan and her PhD from the University at Buffalo School of Social Work. She is an Associate Professor in the Baccalaureate Social Work program at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Dr. Kusmaul worked in health care for more than a decade, in nursing homes, hospitals, home care, and adult day care. Her research focuses on organizational culture, trauma informed care, and the impact of trauma experiences on the workforce. She is particularly interest in the experience of direct care workers in organizations, particularly Certified Nursing Assistants in long term care settings. She is co-chair of the NASW Maryland Committee on Aging and a Fellow of the Gerontological Society of America.
