Nicholas Startin is a senior lecturer in French and European Politics. He is Head of Department of Politics, Languages and International Studies (PoLIS) at the University of Bath. He has a doctoral thesis in Politics from Brunel University, an M.Phil in French Studies from Birmingham University and a PGCE in Languages from the University of Warwick.
His main areas of research are the impact of Euroscepticism on nation states at the level of parties, public opinion and media; the rise of the Far Right in Contemporary Europe; French elections and political parties. He co-founded the University Association for Contemporary European Studies (UACES) collaborative research network on Euroscepticism. He is co-editor of the Routledge Handbook of Euroscepticism due for publication in August 2017.
