Senior Lecturer in Education, University of Technology Sydney

Nick has over a decade's experience researching how people learn in a range of settings including schools, universities, workplaces, and child and family health services.

His research explores a range of related issues relating to reducing social inequality and disadvantage, young people, and professional practice.

He takes inspiration from the basic idea that all people are capable of learning, provided they are provided with appropriate opportunities and support in taking on new challenges. This means you never 'give up' on anyone, but always stay focused on how they can develop new strengths and independence - whether as children, parents, students, new entrants to workplaces, or experienced professionals.
