Senior Lecturer (Associate professor) in Applied Physiology, Sheffield Hallam University

Nick is an accredited physiologist with the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES), and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA). He earned a Masters by research in Exercise Physiology at the University of Hertfordshire (2008), and a PhD in Human Applied Physiology at Brunel University London (2014).

Nick has worked with Olympic performance programmes in London and the South East of the UK, and currently resides at Sheffield Hallam University, Yorkshire, where he leads on Applied Physiology and engages in research and scholarly work. Nick is passionate about science communication, and is a regular contributor to mainstream media publications. In his spare time he trains for ultra-endurance sport, and among others has contested Ironman triathlon, the Marathon Des Sables (Sahara Desert), and 100 mile ultramarathon.
