Started out teaching geography at secondary level, moved into initial teacher education mentoring, and then into university-based PGCE tutoring. Led the PGCE course at the University of Oxford and now doing the same at the University of Bristol (i). Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, interested in teacher learning, geography education and curriculum development. Currently working on ''Ca-Pow'' (ii) - researching intersectional disadvantage in undergraduate studies in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Bristol. Co-Director of the ''Outstanding'' Gloucestershire Initial Teacher Education Programme (iii)
