Nicole Ferdinand

Senior Lecturer, Events Management, Oxford Brookes University

Dr Nicole Ferdinand is currently working as part of a collective of academics investigating the ethical and effective use of Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies in the fields of tourism and events (see: https://responsibleai.blog/ for details). Recent research projects she has been involved with include the Festival Impact Monitor (FestIM), which involved the use of social media data analysis to examine festival and impacts, and the Serviced Networked Artificial Intelligence for Destination Competitiveness (SNAIP-DC), which explored the potential for AI powered chat bots to enhance the event experience. She completed her PhD in Culture, Media and Creative Industries at King's College London in 2015. Nicole is interested in working others who share her passion for the use AI and other technologies for the good of society.
