Dr Nicole Scicluna is a lecturer in the Department of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Birmingham. Previously, she was a postdoctoral fellow in social sciences at Collegio Carlo Alberto in Turin, Italy. Nicole received her PhD in 2013 from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. Her thesis analysed the crisis of the European integration project through the prism of constitutionalism, with a focus on the ‘twin crises’ of the failure of the Constitutional Treaty in 2005 and the eurozone crisis that began in 2010.

Nicole's book, 'European Union Constitutionalism in Crisis', was published by Routledge at the end of 2014 (http://www.routledge.com/books/details/9781138801608/). She has also published articles on aspects of EU law and politics in the Journal of Common Market Studies, the European Law Journal and the International Journal of Constitutional Law.
