Postdoctoral Researcher, Neuro Mental Health, The University of Queensland

Nicole Walker (BPsySc (Hons), MPsych, PhD) is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Queensland, Clinical Centre for Research, Faculty of Medicine. Nicole is an active member of the Dissanayaka Neuro Mental Health Group. The group’s specialises in Parkinson’s disease, anxiety, depression, cognitive dysfunction, ageing and residential aged care. Currently, the group are developing new diagnostic tools and therapeutic interventions. Nicole is generating a line of research addressing the complex and multi-faceted contributions that result from social isolation in residential aged care, employing a social intergenerational approach with work integrated learning within tertiary education.
