Nicolette V Roman

Professor Nicolette Roman has a PhD in Psychology, is the South African Research Chair (SARChI) in Human Capabilities and Social Cohesion through the family based in the Child and Family Studies Unit in the Faculty of Community and Health Sciences, is rated as an Established Researcher in South Africa and is currently the Principle Investigator for Early Childhood Development, at the University of the Western Cape. Her research focuses on the parent-child relationship to strengthen families across the lifespan. She has extensively published and presented her research both locally and internationally. Professor Roman published two international books titled (1) Parenting: Behaviors, Cultural Influences and Impact on Childhood Health and Wellbeing as well as (2) Self-Determination Theory: A Family Perspective published by NOVA Science Publications in New York. She is a member of the Family Services Forum in the Western Cape to implement family policy, a member of the Society for Research in Child Development as well as of Human Development and Capability Association: Agency, Well-Being and Justice.
