Assistant Professor of Biology, Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics, Penn State

Dr. Nita Bharti is a quantitative biologist whose research merges epidemiology, human movement and contact patterns, and remote sensing to estimate infectious disease risks and implement solutions. She earned a Masters degree in biological anthropology and a PhD in biology. After completing postdoctoral work at Princeton University, she received a prestigious Branco Weiss fellowship to continue building her research program at Stanford University. She joined the faculty at PSU in 2016 in the Department of Biology and the Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics.
