I completed my BSc in Ecology and Zoology (Advanced Major) at St Francis Xavier University (Nova Scotia, Canada) where I completed a project on desert dwelling black rhino conservation in Damaraland, Namibia. My Honors and MSc in Wildlife Management were completed at the University of Pretoria (Pretoria, South Africa) focusing on the topic of re-introduction of captive bred cheetah into a wild environment. I have completed my PhD in Nature Conservation at Tshwane University of Technology (Pretoria, South Africa) on the issue of bovine tuberculosis in lions of the Kruger National Park, South Africa. For all my studies I lived on site and conducted all my own extensive field work. Laboratory and Geographic Information System analysis was all conducted after I took courses for the relevant skills.
