Noureddine Benkeblia

Dr. Noureddine Benkeblia is a Professor of Crop Science in the Department of Life Sciences, the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Kingston, Jamaica. Prof. N. Benkeblia is holder of PhD in Food Science and Human Nutrition form INA-Algeria and a PhD in Crop Science from Kagoshima University, Japan. Prof. N. Benkeblia has been working in INRA-Avignon (France), Mostaganem University (Algeria), Rakuno Gakuen University (Japan), Hokkaido University (Japan), and joined the Department of Life Sciences, University of the West Indies, Mona Campus in 2008. His main research areas are pre- and postharvest physiology and biochemistry, and metabolomics of fresh crops. Prof. N. Benkeblia published more than 150 papers, and more than 21 books and book series, attended more than 50 international conferences as invited speaker or delegate. He is a member of many international scientific societies, as well and consultant of FAO and UNPD. Prof. N. Benkeblia also provides consultancies and extension, and many National and International stakeholders, farmers and agro-processors seek his expertise in crops science.
