Oliver Lewis is an international human rights lawyer specialising in the interface of mental health, intellectual disability and human rights. He is a barrister at Doughty Street Chambers, London, and is a a part-time Professor of Law and Social Justice at the School of Law, University of Leeds. From 2001 to 2017 he was Legal Director then Executive Director of 'Validity' (formerly the Mental Disability Advocacy Centre), an international human rights NGO that uses the law to secure equality, inclusion and justice.
