I am a senior lecturer and an urban planner with interest sustainable urban environmental behaviour. Hence, my research works mostly focus on urban environmental management with particular reference to community participation (a bottom-up approach). The main theme of these research works is that urban environmental management can only be sustainable when the primary stakeholders (the community people) are considered in terms of their level of awareness of, responses to, and involvement in the environmental issues in their living environment. As such, my studies have dwelt mainly on collection and analysis of perceptual data in order to elicit information from the residents or community people about the environmental problems they face and also the possible solutions to the problems.
