Dr Patsie Frawley has a national profile for her research and policy advocacy work in intellectual disability. Her research focus is on sexuality and relationships, abuse prevention and inclusion. She works at Deakin University at the Waterfront campus in Geelong as a Senior Lecturer in the Disability and Inclusion team and is leading a research project funded by the Australian National Research Organisation on Women's Safety on developing accessible tertiary response services for women and girls who have experienced violence and abuse. She completed her PhD in the School of Social Work and Social Policy at LaTrobe University with a DHS Disability Services Scholarship. Her thesis was a qualitative study of the participatory experiences of people with an intellectual disability on government disability advisory bodies.
