Professor Emeritus of Fish Biology and Fisheries, University of Leicester

Graduated with a degree in zoology. Did a PhD on freshwater fish ecology. With the Open University studies mathematics and philosophy. After spells working for the Continuous Plankton Recorder Survey and then for industry I was employed by the University of Leicester. There I researched fish behaviour and fisheries and taught behaviour, ecology and evolution. Since retiring I have focused mostly on fisheries issues with a particular interest in developing individual based models of fishing.
