Associate Professor in Educational Psychology, Macquarie University

Penny is an Associate Professor in Educational Psychology in the Macquarie School of Education. She is also Director of the Centre for Children's Learning in a Social World, whose members conduct research examining children's learning in relationships with others, and former Associate Dean: Learning and Teaching in the Faculty of Human Sciences.

Penny's background is in developmental psychology. She completed her doctoral studies in the School of Psychology at the University of New South Wales, investigating how children develop autobiographical memory and emotion skills by reminiscing with their parents. She now applies her understanding of memory, emotion, development, and learning to the field of education, focusing on memory and learning, collaborative learning, student-teacher relationships, and development.
