Peter Wilson is an architect, author and publisher. He currently holds the post of Director of Business Development for the Centre for Timber Engineering (CTE) at Napier University and in this capacity writes on a regular basis for a number of publications including Timber Building, Timber in Construction and TTJ as well as Building Design, Prospect and Project Scotland. Peter Wilson qualified as an architect in 1982.

Thereafter spells of work on major projects took him between Athens, Berlin, London and the Middle East. He has specialised in the design of cultural exhibitions for over 20 years, and has worked on projects in England, Germany, Greece, Spain and Scotland.

As a director of Arcamedia, Peter Wilson has been responsible for the publication of ‘Designing with Timber’, ‘Timber Cladding in Scotland’ and ‘Making the Grade (a guide to the appearance grading of UK grown hardwood timbers)’. He is currently editing ‘Designing the External Façade’ a major publication on external timber cladding and is the author of ‘New Timber Architecture in Scotland
