PhD Candidate in History, University of Exeter

I am currently completing a PhD in History at the University of Exeter, funded by the AHRC, which I expect to be awarded by September 2016. The title of my thesis is ‘The Heights of Modernity: the Labour Party and the politics of urban transformation, 1945-70’, and the thesis examines Labour housing policy in the period 1945-70 to investigate why modern housing and urban redevelopment was pursued so passionately by Labour, as well as the implications this had for British urban areas.

Prior to beginning my PhD, I completed an MPhil in Modern European History at the University of Cambridge (King's College), writing my dissertation on the dynamics of slum clearance. I was awarded a BA in History with European Study from the University of Exeter in 2010.
