Philippe Jean-Pierre

Philippe JEAN-PIERRE is full professor in economics and international business in University
of La Reunion Island. Innovation addict & passionate by shaping the
future, his courses and research activities mainly focus on economic development, regional development policies, economic
tourism and innovation. He is committed in studying the process through which territories
(particularly islands) embrace catching-up dynamics towards European targets and settle smart strategies to reduce their vulnerabilities. He is in charge of the Tourism Master degree in the University of La Reunion.
He has been also involved in several master plans building by firms and public organizations
in several islands and for European organizations regarding economic strategy, innovation and climate action issues. He has been also the chairman (2013-
2020) of the Regional Committee of Innovation.
