Linguistic anthropologist, Max Planck Institute

Piers Kelly is a postdoctoral fellow at The Mint, a new research group at The Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History in Jena where he researches the evolution of graphic codes. His other interests include linguistic creativity, folk literature and grassroots literacy. In 2013 he completed a PhD on a utopian language and script of the southern Philippines.

He is a founder of Fully (sic), Crikey's language blog.
