Piotr Ozieranski

Lecturer, University of Bath

Piotr joined the Department of Social and Policy Sciences as a Prize Fellow in March 2013. He previously worked as a Research Associate at the Social Science Applied to Healthcare Improvement Research (SAPPHIRE) Group at the Department of Health Sciences, University of Leicester.

Piotr earned his PhD in Sociology from the University of Cambridge (2007-2012). Prior to this, he did an MA in Sociology at the University of Warsaw (2002-2007).

Piotr’s research looks at decision-making mechanisms, especially in policy areas with important implications for public health. He is interested in how expert knowledge is generated, supplied, and utilised in the policy process. In analysing these themes, he considers complex relationships between public institutions, private economic actors, think-tanks and non-governmental organisations.
