I am employed by the British Antarctic Survey where I have studied the Antarctic marine ecosystem for over 30 years. I am a senior principal research scientist with an extensive publication record on the biology, ecology and management of marine systems in the Southern Ocean. I have wide experience and an established track record of interdisciplinary research, commissioned research and international collaboration. I have published more than 260 peer-reviewed scientific papers.

I have participated in 20 Antarctic field trips, having been involved in predator tracking studies for over 20 years. I am particularly interested in how seabirds utilize their available habitat and how this relates to their reproductive output and performance.
