Quentin Beresford

Professor of Politics, Edith Cowan University

Dr Quentin Beresford has taught politics at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia since 1992. Prior to this position, Dr Beresford was a senior policy officer in the Western Australian office of the Department of Premier and Cabinet. He has a strong back-ground, as former editor of Youth Studies, in youth policy and juvenile crime.

Dr Beresford has written numerous books which discuss Australian politics, public policy and Aboriginal affairs. His most recent books are Adani and the War Over Coal (2018); The Rise and Fall of Gunns Ltd (2015); The Godfather The Life of Brian Burke (2008) and the multi-award winning biography of Aboriginal leader Rob Riley, Rob Riley: An Aboriginal Leader’s Quest for Justice (2006).

Dr Beresford is also adjunct Professor of Politics at Sunshine Coast University.
