I have a BSc in microbiology and a PhD in plant molecular biology. I am now a professor in the School of Agriculture, Food and Wine at the Waite Campus, University of Adelaide and my specialist areas of research are plant cell walls (dietary fibre and gut health and biofuels) and seed biology (particularly seeds that make mucilage like Plantago/psyllium and chia). I am one of the inaugural Superstars of STEM.
