Dr Ranmalie Jayasinha (they/them) is a public health researcher and postdoctoral research fellow at the Université de Montréal and the Venture Lab, Centre de Recherche, CHU Ste-Justine. They are also the national research coordinator of two pan-Canadian studies focused on evaluating the effectiveness of a mental health and substance use prevention and early intervention program for adolescents. Their key research and advocacy interests are focused on the health, wellbeing and rights of youth from LGBTIQA+, Indigenous and migrant communities. Prior to their work in youth substance use prevention and harm-minimization in Canada, they worked in academic and nonprofit organizations in the areas of community-based health promotion, health equity, and mental health service cultural competence and safety in Australia and New Zealand.
