Raymond Harbridge

Research Fellow, Centre for Workplace Leadership, Faculty of Business and Economics, The University of Melbourne

Raymond is a Kiwi who moved to Australia in 1999. Holding a Bachelor and Master of Arts form Auckland University, Raymond started his academic career at the Industrial Relations Centre, Victoria University of Wellington – a Centre not dissimilar from the Centre for Workplace Leadership.

He was appointed Head of the Graduate School of Business and Government Management in Wellington and left there for La Trobe University in Melbourne as Head of the Graduate School of Management. In 2004 he was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Law and Management at La Trobe and he retired in 2010. He holds a LLD (Doctor of Laws) from Victoria University of Wellington. On his retirement he was conferred the title Emeritus Professor.

His research interests centred on workplace law, collective bargaining and trade union membership and he has published more than 70 refereed journal articles around those topics.

He is currently a Panel Member of Racing Victoria’s Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board.
