Professor of Modern Languages and Creative Futures, Lancaster University

Rebecca teaches and researches in the Department of Languages and Cultures at Lancaster University. She is Director of Lancaster's Institute for Social Futures (http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/social-futures/), where she leads research in Creative Futures. She also directs the interdisciplinary research hub 'Authors and the World': (www.authorsandtheworld.com), which she founded with an AHRC Leadership Fellowship in 2014. The hub enjoys the active input of writers, publishers, translators, and other industry professionals and brings together researchers from English & Creative Writing, Modern Languages, Linguistics, Law, and Cultural Studies. Rebecca's most recent published research probes ideas of literary celebrity, European prize culture, and wider literary and cultural constructions of authorship in respect of a wide range of 20th and 21st C German-language writers.
