Rebecca Dobson Phillips

Lecturer, Centre for the Study of Corruption, University of Sussex

I am a Lecturer in Corruption Analysis at the Centre for the Study of Corruption at the University of Sussex.

Prior to joining Sussex, I worked in the anti-corruption field for about 10 years. I continue to work across the academic/practice divide with a particular emphasis on engaging with policy makers and the public to make research accessible to the widest possible range of people.

My research focuses on corruption and ethics in public life. I'm not only interested in why and how individuals in positions of power abuse their roles, but also in the ways in which institutions themselves can be distorted (or corrupted) to serve some at the expense of others and so lead to injustice.
