Associate Professor, Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation, Monash University

Rebecca is an Associate Professor (Practice) of Community Engagement and Intercultural Communication at the Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation at Monash University. She is responsible for leading the Centre's public and community engagement programs, developing new initiatives and partnerships across the community, professional bodies and creative industries.

From 2010 to July 2019, Rebecca was Director & CEO of the Jewish Museum of Australia where she led a period of significant organisational development and creative revitalisation. She also spearheaded the establishment of Multicultural Museums Victoria, an alliance of five culturally-specific museums: the Chinese Museum, Hellenic Museum, Islamic Museum of Australia, Jewish Museum of Australia and Museo Italiano.

Previously she worked as a curator and exhibition manager at the State Library of Victoria, Public Record Office Victoria as well as the Jewish Museum of Australia. She also has extensive experience in Jewish adult education.

Rebecca has a Masters in Women's Studies and Diploma of Education from Monash University, and a Masters in Jewish Studies from Oxford University.
