Rebecca Janicker

Senior Lecturer in Film and Media Studies, University of Portsmouth

Having taught at the University of Portsmouth since 2005, I was appointed Senior Lecturer in Film and Media Studies in 2009 and from 2011 became Course Leader for the BA Film and Television Studies.

My PhD was on the haunted house motif in popular American fiction and my research has focused on on the Gothic fictions of Robert Bloch, Stephen King, Richard Matheson and H. P. Lovecraft, including work on adaptations of horror for film and comics. I am the editor of 'Reading "American Horror Story": Essays on the Television Franchise' (2017).
