Associate Professor, Australian National University

Dr Rebecca McKetin is a Fellow at Centre on Ageing, Health and Wellbeing at ANU.

Her research examines the relationship between substance use and health. Much of her research has focused on methamphetamine, for which she received a NSW/ACT Young Tall Poppy Science Award. This work included estimating the number of dependent methamphetamine users in Australia and establishing the first treatment outcomes study for the drug (the Methamphetamine Treatment Evaluation Study).

She has previously worked as an epidemiologist and consultant for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Southern Africa, Europe and Southeast Asia. Rebecca is currently the Executive Editor for the international journal 'Drug and Alcohol Review' and an Associate Member of the Australian Institute of Policy and Science.
