Rene Claude Niyonkuru

René-Claude Niyonkuru is researcher with a focus on Public Policy, Peacebuilding and Human Rights, with more than 15 years of experience both in Burundi and in many other African countries (Kenya, DRC, Rwanda, Cote d’Ivoire, Mali, and Burkina Faso). He is also a practitioner and has worked in various projects, either in management positions or through short-term technical assistance for Project Design, Monitoring and Evaluation, Training and Capacity building. Besides his professional experience, he has also extensively worked with civil society organizations as both a human rights activist and educator. Mr Niyonkuru has an academic background in Law, Governance and Development and is currently pursuing a doctoral research in political and social science at the Centre for Development Studies (DVLP) - Université Catholique de Louvain (www.uclouvain.be )
