Professor of Media Practice, University of East Anglia

Professor Richard J. Hand is Professor of Media Practice at the University of East Anglia. He was formerly Professor of Theatre and Media Drama at the University of South Wales. He is the founding co-editor of the Journal of Adaptation in Film and Performance, a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Richard has written extensively on adaptation, horror studies, European theatre, radio drama, and popular culture. Richard has also worked as a writer, director and performer for theatre and radio.

Richard has extesnive experience in examining and supervising PhD theses in a variety of media (radio, theatre, film and literature) and methodolgies (theoretical, historical and practical).
