Riley Kucheran (Biigtigong Nishnaabeg) is an Assistant Professor of Design Leadership at Ryerson University's School of Fashion. He is also Associate Director of the Saagajiwe Centre for Indigenous Research and Creation in the Faculty of Communication and Design. As an Indigenous fashion researcher he supports the global movement towards cultural and economic resurgence. With experience in fashion retail and entrepreneurship he draws on Indigenous theory to propose that fashion is a powerful tool for decolonization.
