Dr. Baloh is a distinguished professor of Neurology at the David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA. He is the author of 13 books and over 300 articles in peer-reviewed science journals, and is a pioneer in the study of the vestibular system: the part of the inner ear which helps people maintain their sense of balance and spatial awareness. He has developed tests of vestibular and oculomotor function that are used by doctors around the world. His book Clinical Neurophysiology of the Vestibular System, written with Dr. Vicente Honrubia, is currently in its fourth edition and is the standard in the field. His recent books include Sciatica and Chronic Pain:Past, Present and Future (2019), Havana Syndrome: Mass Psychogenic Illness and the Real Story Behind the Embassy Mystery and Hysteria (2020) and Medically Unexplained Symptoms: A Brain-Centered Approach (2021).
