Robert’s work focuses on the application, management, and strategic use of analytic methods in the finance, energy, and telcomm industries, or wherever interesting problems can be found. He teaches machine learning and economic methods at the University of Zurich. His work can be found in the Review of Economic Studies, the Electricity Journal, and Regulation.

Robert earned a PhD in Operations Research from Stanford University, and a BA in Mathematics from the College of William and Mary. He is the owner of Alea IE, LLC, an economics consultancy in San Francisco, California.
