Robert Kinscherff

Associate Vice President/Associate Professor (Doctoral Clinical Psychology Program), William James College

Robert Kinscherff, PhD, JD is a clinical/forensic psychologist and attorney with more than 30 years professional experience at the intersection of law and behavioral science. He has served as faculty affiliated with major teaching hospitals and currently William James College, law school faculty, Assistant Commissioner for Forensic Mental Health (MA Department of Mental Health), and clinical director for clinical care programs and a statewide system of court clinics. Dr. Kinscherff has been involved as a policy-maker, consultant, governmental commission member, and expert member for initiatives ranging from improving access and quality of local services to participation in a White House Summit on community violence. He is widely publishes, and teaches and consults nationally and internationally to policy-makers, community and facility-based clinical care providers, and others with a particular focus on behavioral health needs of populations at high risk of harm to self and/or others.
