Robert recently started as a lecturer in Policing and Criminal Justice at Northumbria University in 2018.
Robert's research broadly speaking is concerned with organised crime, gang/group activity, desistance, and rehabilitation. Robert has worked extensively with career criminals involved in organised crime and drug supply networks in Scotland.
Before joining Northumbria University, Robert was a Lecturer at the University of the West of Scotland since 2015. In this position Robert taught, and carried out research, across the disciplines of criminal justice, education, social policy, and sociology. This role coincided with the undertaking of his PhD, titled ‘gang organisation as a means for gang business’. This was competed in 2018.
Robert has an interest in serious and organised criminal activity, particularly that which involved group processes and involvement in drug supply/firearm networks.
